Your Browsing is being Watched

Google is keeping tabs on your browsing habits (click link to see yours). Is that a big revelation - no (or, I should hope not anyway). Ruth found that Google somehow missed that she has a gun habit, it didn't miss my "hunting and shooting" predilection though.

However, it somehow missed my motorcycle mania (geeze, I only go to several forums/blogs/websites on/for bikes). It also somehow missed my affection for cats too, even though it figured out I liked dogs.

And, Google committed the biggest sin, it tacked on an estimated 6+ years onto a woman's age. On the other hand, seeing that it called Ruth the same age group, maybe it thinks everyone is between 55 and 64.

 

 Update:

It occurred to me that I use 2 different computers in the house (desk top and laptop). The previous results are for the desk top, the following are for the laptop.

Notice that they get the motorcycle thing and get my age group correct. They have also noticed the yard work thing BUT they think I am a male.

Hu, just highlights the differences on what use I put each computer to and the apparent fact that I act female when on the desktop and act male when on the laptop.

So, I’ve heard that homeless people and ‘professional moochers’ have invaded and started eating all your organic tofu and goat cheese salads. That’s gotta be rough, but I have a solution for you that will help hammer home the point you people have been trying to make.

Since you have all the food necessary to feed the people, we can consider it a place where you store goods… I dunno, call it a ‘food bank’ or something. We know that because you have only a limited amount of food, you need to ensure that the food is distributed correctly. One way you could do this is issue vouchers for food with the condition that those who take food promise to bring more in later to replenish the stocks. Call this “a food loan”. Even the homeless people would have to agree to pay back their fair share of food. By doing so, your bank can ensure it always has enough food to feed everyone!

Finally, when you realize that there’s not enough food to go around, you can tell all the people holding ‘food credit’ that they need to pay up and when they complain that their degree in Domicile Avoidance hasn’t permitted them to obtain sustenance (you’re gonna love this part) you can forgive everyone’s food loans!!!!! Just like that!

You see, you have large stores of food, which made you food-wealthy. Because you are wealthy, you can give away your food with no expectation of ever getting any back at all. Just because those people promised to return food doesn’t mean they actually have to. So you can show the world exactly how beneficial wiping out everyone’s loans is by being a shining example of a working system!

Leslie, over at Dreams and Bones, has made a movie of some of her still photo's, called Cherry Blossom Sunrise. The title feature is the Cherry blossoms in DC. It is a beautiful piece (she is very good at compositio), and it's hard to believe it is the first one she has put together.

Of course, makes me wish spring was a little further along here, but all in good time.

A Little Quibble

I was over at the Weekend Pundit's site and was taken by the post, They Don't Make Them the Way They Used to - Part II. From an article that was being quoted came this gem

"But, as Americans are increasingly learning, front-loaders are expensive, often have mold problems, and don't let you toss in a wayward sock after they've started."

This sentence caused me to question everything else because, in my experience, this is not true. I have owned 2 front loaders, and I could push a button on either of them, at any time during the wash cycle, and add items. Maybe there are front loaders out there that this can't be done with, but I haven't seen them.

I also haven't had mold problems with either of them, but I have heard of others that have. There is now a product out on the market that you can run thru the washer once a month to "freshen" it. Also, just running an empty load with bleach once a month would probably take care of it (or, God forbid, actually hand clean it once in a while).

Anyway, although I generally agree that things aren't made as well now as in the past, I am just so picky I needed blog-fodder, so I had to address these little inconsistancies.

Clean Up

I've done some long needed cleanup of my blog links; I've added some (Sassy and TN Triker) and deleted a bunch that have either been static for at least 6 months or have completely disappeared. If you are the owner of a blog that I de-linked, and believe that I did so in error, please let me know and I will reinstate the linkage.
