I thought these pictures were taken last week, but looking at the time stamp it was actually a week ago Friday (3/17/23). Although the large gatherings of redwing blackbirds has been here for about 2 weeks, I was unable to see most of them and this was the first time I was able to take pictures. I counted just over 61 birds in the area at that time. The first two pics are trees in the back yard, the third is from the large tree on the north side.
I guess you should count yourself lucky that you haven't had a flock of hundreds, with the attendant din. Too bad your flock was all red-winged. A couple of yellow-headeds thrown in would be pretty.

Some yellow headed black birds would have been pretty - and amazing since they don't frequent the east

Keep your eyes peeled. a straggler might grace your yard. (Wouldn't that be super!)
