We seem to be unable to order "moderate" weather to suit. I'm happy that your drought has been broken and hope it doesn't become too rainy. We had 0.55" of rain on Wednesday and 0.77" on Friday. That pushes up to "near normal" for the month at this point in July.

I don't recognize your borer, but I do recall that our lone sugar maple succumbed to some type of borers a couple of years ago. The only other maples in close proximity are the box elders in the woods that attract box elder bugs - orange and black. I don't know how many members, if any, of the bug family get shared among various varieties of trees.
