One of my clusters of creeping phlox is blooming. The other clusters, in the tiers above, are different colors and get more shade so they are only now setting flower buds.
Yesterday was cold, raw, very windy and snowy. The high was 42 - and like most of May so far (except 1 day), the high temp was way below average. The ground was warm enough that the snow pretty much melted as it fell, but there were some spots it tried to accumulate. I looked out at the side window and at first thought the invasive roses over in the swamp were blooming. I thought it was rather early in the season. Then I realized that the "blooms" were clumps of snow sticking.
Next weekend it will probably be time for the first mowing for some areas of the lawn.
Your dad and I noted that your area was due for a bit of snow a couple of days ago.
Your phlox (both colors) are doing so well - lovely! The blooms in your swamp look like a white-blossoming shrub that I can't name, but like, and the snow dusting on the green bush beyond the fence is quite lovely, too.
Those yellow flowers in the driveway look healthy and beautiful, but I can't quite put a name to them - lol.

Those white blooms in the swamp were snow - although you are rite, they could look like a Snow Mound Spirea from a distance.

You got it - that's what I was trying to think of. Yes, you were clear about the white blossoms' being snow. I just was careless in my wording.
