Cop Car

Woo hoo, on the luck! And here I thought that I was the only one in our family who dislikes the smell of coffee. It is really, really handy to have a second battery. I can use my old Sprint TREO for charging (or for anything else, other than telephoning!) so I understand, perfectly. Glad that you were able to retrieve everything from the hard drive. Could they not just plug in a new motherboard?
My laptop came from a place called Computer Depot. It is a re-conditioned HP that looks a bit time-worn; but, it does just fine by me and your dad (he uses it while watching football!) They told me that they had put a new battery in it, and the price was either $100 or $150 - the latter, I think.

Yes, I could put in a motherboard, but on a 7 year old laptop, what else is about to die? I asked about it, and he recommended against - especially since he said he has never seen one of that particular laptop last as long as it has.

I've gotten a lot of reconditioned stuff - including my present phone. Looking at prices though, it would only be a few $$ more to buy new - and it would last me another 5-7 years. But, I am still looking and watching Craig's List too to see if I can get into a really good deal.

buffy

Way to go! It's almost as much fun to recount it as to experience it, I bet. Congrats!
