The last time you saw the new vacuum, I was explaining how I came to need it, and how I liked some of the features. Well, I am going to tell you about another feature - one that wasn't supposed to come with the vacuum.
When we went to look at vacuums, we went to the nearest Sears. I noticed that not only was the vaccum I eventually got on sale, but there was a placard that said that if you bought any of certain models, a free Evo (hand held vacuum) would be thrown in. We went other places to look at vacuums, but ended up at Sears. That is when I got into serious dialog with the saleswoman. After discussing the vaccum that I ended up with, I asked about the free Evo (at that time, I was unsure what it was). The saleswoman explained what it was, then said, that sign should have come off - the sale ended last week, but, since it is up there now, she will have to honor it (as she was saying that, she took the pacard down). Honor it Sears did (she had to involve a manager to over-ride the system), and I came home with the new vacuum and new Evo system.
So, I finally used the Evo because I had just wanted to clean up the kitchen floor (the whole house had been vacuumed the day before, so I didn't need everything done). i grabbed the Evo, not knowing exactly what to expect as I got it out of the box.
As you can see, in comparison to my foot (size 8), the Evo isn't very large. Itis a cute little unit that all attachments will fit onto - including the PetMate mini rotating cleaning tool that is great on furniture (like the couch that prince doesn't lays on).
It also fits on the main cleaning wand and you can use just the bare floor portion, or the main power section.
The motor gives it plenty of power, unlike most hand held vacuums I have encountered.
I have used the Evo twice more since the first time I unpacked it 10 days ago. It is awesome and I'll probably try it in the Jeep to see if I can get the dog hair out from when I took Missy and Prince to the vet. The only downside to the Evo is that it is bagless, but the receptacle doesn't hold much anyway, so emptying it doesn't let too much dust escape. Also, the cloth filter that it contains really holds onto the dog hair, so I have to manually grab the hair out. Minor irritations that I can live with.
Gosh, this post sounds like an advertisement - which means that it really impressed me and as much as I gripe about lousy service or products, I really enjoy when I can report positive experiences.
Disclaimer - no animals were harmed, no royalties wer paid to me by Sears, its subsidiaries, Kenmore brand, or anyone else. The Evo was not gotten as recompense for writing a good review, I wrote the review of my own free will etc. etc.
Bogie--It really is nice that you get to write a positive, non-rant! Thanks for the rundown. It may be useful to some of us in the future. (How silly. How could it be useful to us in the past?!)

Bogie, just because no animals were harmed, was the device TESTED on them? BTW, I would have held out for royalties myself.
CC - depending on the states of some minds, that little gem MAY have been helpful in the past. Just saying.

WD - it was only tested on their shed hair - not on the animals themselves.
CC - And a nutrino walks into a bar.
