Once again we got some warmer weather and meltage was happening. It got up to 48 degrees this afternon and a lot of the ice/snow on the pathways is gone. After WS got back from sledding (he and Jimmy went out for about 8 hours), I made asked him to take pics of the snow around the deck.
I had to shovel out the vent to the downstair's bathroom and found the snow was packed very tightly.
Looks like a normal picture of me on the deck until you look at the railing.
The snow on the other side of the deck is piled even higher (the very right hand side of the picture).
Looking at lots of rain today which will compact the snow more, if possible. Tonight might be more rain, or might be snow.
As a side note, I have GOT to show WS how to change the camerea from sunny conditions to cloudy. I couldn't figure out how every pic he took yesterday was out of focus (autofocus camera), until I realized they were all taken in cloudy conditions - the camera was set for sunny. This is the only pic of his travels yesterday that came out well enough to put up:
A view of Crotched Mountain from the top of Hedgehog Mountain. Crotched Mountain is in Bennington and Hedgehog is in Deering.
Don't worry, the storm thats hitting me is headed in your general direction.....:P

Ruth - we got lots of rain, localized flooding, and high winds out of what you sent. Northern NH got up to 15" of snow. Cold temps have once again taken over, so no more melting for a while.

In the third picture from the top, what is behind you that looks like a huge bee skep? Have you put a cloche over something to winter it over?
We're flirting with 32 degrees, up and down and up and down. It feels like it should rain, and we have a forecast of 100% chance of rain, but the way things have been going, it could be snow. I'm ready for SPRING!!!

Buffy - that is a tumbling composter that is on top of the farthest retaining wall; it stands almost 4 feet tall (just to give you some scale on the snow around it).
Ruth - believe me, I am happy that I didn't have to shovel!
