We will most likely have a white Christmas. Last Sunday, we had torrential rains before it got cold enough to turn to snow. The water that was on the deck and porch froze, and the snow froze into it (except the very top 1/2 inch). We have not had any thawing, and it doesn't look like any thawing is in the cards for the week.
So, even if we don't get any more snow, our Christmas will still be white.
Hope you have a Merry Christmas this year!
Bogie--Sounds like you'll have a Christmas-card white Christmas, which isn't all bad!
Wouldn't it be great if we could trade weather amongst ourselves to get what we need/want? I don't really envy your long-term ice; but, we could surely use some of the moisture. We've had none at all in December and precious little since about August (if my memory isn't scrambled).

We had rain last weekend, but it didn't leave tons of ice. Yesterday a front came through and dropped about four inches of wet snow, and then we had a tiny bit of rain that froze on top of the snow, so when I was shoveling, it almost looked like the snow had icing.
We expect to get more snow Thursday, Friday and Saturday, so even if it doesn't amount to much, we'll at least have clean white snow for Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you, too!

We've had a couple of snow events; didn't drop much but I did have to break out the broom 3 times in 2 days.

Bogie--When I break out the broom, it's for transportation.
