If you didn't get enough kitty cuteness in the pictures below (a couple of posts down), then head on over the The Weekend Pundit's for some kitty patty cake.

Despite the killing temperatures (low 20's in the morning), there are two roses that still have green leaves; Zephirine Drouhin, which is next to the house so semi understandable (although the other roses next to the house don't have green leaves), and Spirit of Freedom. I just find this very interesting.

I finally got the Amaryllis off the deck as they had finally expired. I have placed them in the lean-to to keep cold. I won't be able to revive them for Christams, but perhaps I can coax them back for Easter. i'll find out with this grand experiment. If the experiment works, then I will let them die after they bloom and then put them in the freezer for the summer. Wish me luck.

WS spent most of the week in New York on a job. He left Monday evening and got back at 6 pM on Thursday. He left at 3:30 AM for Vermont, spent a long day there and got back at 9 pM. He was lucky, he thought he might have to stay in Vermont until Saturday, or even today. He has been getting some much needed rest.

But, not too much rest. Yesterday afternoon he loaded up the truck with smaller pieces of dry wood (less than 12" long) and we delivered it to Karen. We stopped along the way and got her a wood rack. It was funny, she had just gotten back from buying some wood ($50 for all the small stuff she could stack in her SUV) and was stacking that up. We then stacked the wood we brought up for her. Between the two loads, she should have enough to burn for a couple of months (depending on temps).

Saw something sad on the way to work the other day. I was heading over the Amoskeag Bridge and on my exit there was a stopped police car with the lights going. It looks like there was a potential jumper; there was a distraght guy pacing back and forth, two officers taliking to him and a very emotional young woman there. The officers must have got the guy to calm down because nothing made the news. So, at least there wasn't a tragic ending.

We are getting ready for our first real snow storm of the season. Sure, we've had a couple of dustings, some freezing rain and a lot of really hard frosts, but nothing that has warranted shoveling, sweeping or sanding. Hopefully it breaks us in gently this year and we only get a couple of inches for the first storm.

That is the news from the Bogie household. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
