I made enough from my side jobs to replace the dead TV - no more watching the 17" TV! We picked out a Samsung 46" wall-mounted (flat screen) TV. The wall mounting allows options when it comes to the furniture placement by freeing up our second longest wall. However, the best part is the crystal clear picture - as shown by this shot of watching the Belmont Stakes:
The two stereo cabinets fit underneath the TV, located on the shortest wall, so WS could get his chair away from the woodstove.
Ignore the shoes, boots and work stuff, Just imagine that this wall was completely taken up by the TV stand and two stereo cabinets - now it holds a whole lot of other stuff and the area that WS chair came from looks like this:
Oh, and the bookcase behind the chair in the WS Chair pic is new, to hold all the stuff tat used to be on top of the stereo cabinets.
I like the wall mount that gives us more flexibility, I love the picture on the TV, I'll just have to get a real guest chair now that we have room.
Let's see - we place the guest chair next to the stove. (Keeps things lively!)
The new living room arrangement looks good and I'll bet it works a lot better for you. Congratulations! (You're hard work is paying off.)

Our guests, like Karen, usually pulled the chair over close to the woodstove anyway (between where the TV is now and the stove).
