I may soon have more jobs than I know what to do with; my regular job, Census work (starts in 2 weeks), and Friday I go talk to a company about doing some consulting work to help them revamp their quality system in ppreparation for getting their ISO cert (which they lost last year). Of course the last job isn't in the bag, but since they approached me (and not the other way around), I think I've got a good shot.
Congratulations, Bogie! It's nice to have your credibility precede you.

My credibility came from the fact that I was auditing them as a potential vendor for where I work at. They were impressed with my audit skills apparently and the rest is history.
And yes, my present employer is fine with me working with them and my boss even urged me to go for it as long as it was understood that my involvement would not in any way influence the relationship between the two companies.

Oh, my, yes - you are walking that fine line to retain objectivity, aren't you? Your boss has known you long enough to judge that you are entirely capable of doing that. Well done!
