Last week when I wrote that we got absolutely no corn from the garden, I lied - not intentionally - but I did lie. We actually had 5 ears of corn on Sunday and we went out last night and picked the rest:
this looks like we could eat well for a while doesn't it?
Now, look at this picture for a comparison:
Those are the ears that were big enough to keep (that is a decent sized plum tomato and regular-sized green beans), the rest of the ears are going to the neighbor to put out to feed the deer.
While out in the garden, saw something that you don't really want to see, a hornworm:
I let it be, Mother Nature has made sure we won't get much more, and the green tomatoes surely won't even have time to start blushing before frost hits tomorrow night.
On the bright side, the area below the fence (that which used to be of the fruit trees), is looking pretty good:
Today WS will be hauling wood down and I will be stacking it; last weekend he split wood and I restacked what was already in the lean-to so that all the aged stuff is together.
And that is what is happening in the Bogie yard. Have a great weekend!
The AFKATFT (or however it is that you used to refer to it) is looking GOOD! Sorry about your corn crop. It did look good until you showed us a bit of perspective. This is the time of year when you get your exercise stacking wood. Way to go!
