Saturday, July 4, the weather was windy, warm and stormy (in the afternoon anyway). We spent the day doing yard work. The 5th though, was a different story. Although still windy, look what we saw:
Blue Sky! As you can tell, we took full advantage of it and went for a ride. Jimmy and BIL joined us. We rode for a couple of hours in our neck of the woods so that we could stop and pick up SIL when she got off work at noon. While at BIL/SIL's house (SIL needed to change clothes), Jimmy got a call from a friend, who happened to be just down the road, and they came to join us.
This is the group of 5 bikes at our last gas stop before heading home
The two new people in the group and their bikes, are pictured (with Jimmy and his bike between them). Those two bikes are Suzukis and are in the same family as my bike (a 2008 C50)
Pam's bike (Pam is in the background) is the older sister to my bike - a 2002 Intruder. The C50 is the updated version of the Intruder (updated with EFI and a few other things). She has done a lot of modifications to her bike to make it comfortable. At 5'3", she needed the handlebars closer, so she put on risers and mini-apes that are laid down instead of sticking up. She has Iso-grips for her hands and agel seat for her butt (plus it lowers the seat height by 1", and changes the sitting position). The seat and the grips are som mods that I have been mulling, so I asked if I could sit on her bike. She said yes, and I got to try out items before plunking down the cash for them. I have decided that the seat is definitely something to get, and probably the Iso-grips too.
The pretty red bike in the background is BIL's Road King. One of these days I'll have to think to get a close-up of the paint job, as it is not just a red, but has nice highlights that really make it a standout.
This would be the bigger cousin to my bike - a 2008 C90. I originally thought it was a C109. I think he was suprised that I even knew it was a Suzuki (it had been de-badged; all stickers taken off), much less what a 109 was.
Sunday was a beauty, and we were happy to take advantage of it. Monday too was great, too bad it was a work day. Then the rest of the week was cold, cloudy and rainy (yesterday was the warmest day at 68 degrees for a high - blue sky finally showing up when I was 15 minutes away from home). Hopefully we get at least one day this weekend that is as nice as last Sunday was!
Nice bikes, nice photos, and sounds like you had a great day. Fabulous!
Now...I understand EFI (cars have it too, after all), but mini-apes? The quest for knowledge forges ahead.

Apes = apehangers. Those are the really tall handlebars taht some people like to use where their hands are literally higher than their heads (mid and mini's don't put the hands so hign - shoulder height or lower). There are pictures on this Google Search.
In Pam's case, she got 10" or 12" apes (they can be as much as 20"). Instead of having the handlebars go up, they are angled and more in the horizontal postition - just to provide length and get the grips closer to her.
