It rained on and off most of last week. Although we didn't get a big rain total (until Thursday night), it was almost always raining in the early morning, so I only got to ride in to work once last week (first week I haven't ridden in at least 3 times). The gardens like the rain, and some new stuff bloomed:
For Buffy - a bloom from Coppertina Nine Bark. These shrubs are mostly known for their foliage color, but the blooms certainly are nice up close.
Yolande d'Aragon rose is about ready to burst open. This is one of the roses that breezed thru the winter heeled in in the vegetable garden. I got it planted about a month ago, and it seems really happy. This should keep reblooming thru the summer
Armide rose is starting to bloom. In a week or so it should be gorgeous. This is a once-blooming Alba.
There are several roses with tiny little buds; many of which, like Yolanda, were recently un-heeled and planted in their permanent homes.
As for the vegetable garden, the corn is starting to come up, as are the peas. The green beans have not come up, except 1 little shoot. Something is eating and killing the peppers, so it looks like we will have corn and peas and marigolds as the only produce from the gardens (unless some of the newly erupted volunteer squash produces something).
Wow! I gotta get your dad to come look at your new photos. Wunderbar!

He likes them! (He was surprised by the name of the rose in the bottom photo.)
