Excuses

Don't be looking for me to post until after the first of the year. I need to shovel after the storm that hit last night, study for my final that is Monday night, and shovel out from the Nor'easter that will hit us this weekend. Was just planning on using this weekend to study, but Mother Nature has different plans apparently

I was going to study during weeknights also, but I have been spending 11-12 hours at work. When not working, I have been doing all the household chores because WS is stuck having to plow/shovel/sand at work, along with working overtime, so he has had longer day than I have. Last night, he made it home before I did - only because I didn't get home till darn near bedtime. On the bright side, neither of us has had to make dinner because we are getting home to late to have time to do that and get to bed at a reasonable time. Luckily, we could both stand to miss a few meals, so it hasn't hurt us any.

Next weekend we will be on our way to Kansas to spend Christmas week with family (3 1/2 days with each of our families). We are scheduled to get back on New Years Eve, then one day to do laundry and get back into the groove of household life before going back to work.

So, if I don't talk to you before the weekend after we get back - Have a Merry Christmas and Happy (and safe) New Year!

Transforming Movie

We finally watched the Transformers movie last night. Actually, that was good for us; we watched it the same year that we got it. While looking deciding what to watch, we came across stuff I bought a couple of years ago (and even longer). In fact, we came across Matrix 3, which we had tried to watch a year ago when we discovered that our DVD player was obsolete. We still haven't watched it.

Although the storyline was very predictable (boy meets girl blah, blah, blah, world is threatened by aliens, young people know all the answers while the older people are idiots, good aliens vs bad aliens etc.), the main reason I got the movie was for the special effects.

They. Did. Not. Disappoint!

Bonus - lots of humor; "I bought a car. Turned out to be an alien robot. Who knew?"

If we stay on schedule, we should watch another movie sometime in late January or early February. Only time will tell if it is an "old" movie or a newer movie.

Weak Week

WS painted the newly scrubbed bathroom with Kilz last week. He still needs to cut in a second time, but hopefully the mold thing is taken care of. Of course, if it crops up again, we can just tear out the bathroom and start completely over.

WS went back to the sinus specialist on Friday. After asking what the allergists had found, what medications he was on, how WS is doing (fine), and whether we were getting rid of the dogs (no), he proceded to use a super light to determine that WS doesn't need surgery unless somethig changes.

The new refrigerator is doing its thing; keeping cold stuff cold. I am still fine tuning the actual interior temps, but that is only minor.

According to weather.com, it is currently 12 degrees. Projected low is around 8. Snow is due tomorrow night (which at least means it will warm up some). Obviously, it is beginning to feel a lot like winter.

After the rash of posts last week, this is the best I could come up with this week. Hope no one got their hopes up that I would actually entertain them this morning!
