Happy Mother's Day to Cop Car who, last I heard (an email a couple of days ago), was out at the Red Cross Emergency Operations Center helping with the flood/tornado disasters in KS.

Thank you, Love. My email must not have reached you. They gave me a long week-end off. I was supposed to have gone back to Topeka (to the State Emergency Operating Center--as the Red Cross liaison) and to have stayed until the end of the month. Then, FEMA decided to set up their Joint Field Office in Wichita. I asked my boss (in Pratt) if it didn't make sense to assign me to the JFO in Wichita and let a Topeka Red Cross person take the SEOC. He tended to agree. The last I heard (phone call at about 0700, today), he wants me to stay here and work at the JFO.
Can't keep track of your mother, can you?
Thank you for the posting--and for the thoughtful card that you sent. A wonderful daughter, you are, you are!
P.S. Your dad got a late start because of his illness, but he left for Pratt at 0530 Thursday.

It's good to know that your mother is safe, and keeping busy. Happy Mum's Day to you both.

Cop Car - I got your email, but interpreted it to say that you were leaving again on Saturday or Sunday to go back to Topeka. After re-reading, it seems to say that you were to leave on Tuesday (and now, not at all). Now I feel horrible for not calling!

Please do not feel horrible. I meant to call you Saturday. Did I? (If you talked to me it was an imposter!) USPS mail and blog posting should count for something!
