Four Score and Seven Years ago items of interest from yesterday:
- The Blue Moon rose looks like it is coming back from the roots.
- A whole bunch of chipping sparrows started visiting the feeder.
- One lone Evening Grosbeak checked out the feeder then left (maybe an advance scout - going back to get friends?).
- Late in the day there were Brown-Headed Cowbirds at the feeder. I know some people don't like BHCs, but you gotta admire a bird that don't scare off when Blue Jays want the feeder (the Jays had to wait their turn) - especially with the size difference.
And there you have it; the four most interesting things from yesterday.
Cool, on all of the birds. (BHC's gotta live, too! Besides--they are pretty.) Wonder what root stock the Blue Moon rose has? You'll be finding out.

Like I can't find enough negative things on my own ;^). It happens to be own-root.

Glad to see you're getting a small break and can watch the birds at the feeders. By next week I'll be doing the same down here in Canada.

I love watching the birds. The good thing about having the computer in the work-out room (until the work is done in the den) is that I can watch all the birds that use the lilacs as a stopping point after they snatch seeds from the feeder.
