Last Sunday I got to make some salsa. I had about 10 tomatoes out of my garden, and a pet-sitting customer told me to help myself to her Romas while they were gone. Only got 5 jars, but that is 5 more jars than I would have had otherwise! I used peppers that I had grown several years ago and put in the freezer (I have literally gallons of frozen assorted hot peppers). I put in some jalapenos, a couple of habenaros and a couple of seranos - yes it is HOT!

The summer was so cool ond overcast that the morning glories have finally decided that they have to flower or die without any progeny. The first bloom showed up Tuesday, and there were 4 blooms last night. Yes - they are blooming a couple of months later than normal. No, they won't bloom long as we are supposed to get a heavy frost over the weekend.

The fall colors have just started "popping" this week. Popping is hard to explain - the color was there before, just rather dull but the cool nights have crisped them up so they really catch the eye. Thus, this weekend the state is expecting to get half a million leaf-peeping tourists.

Guess we can't blame them for coming up here to enjoy the view - we'll take their money.
Gorgeous! Those 500,000 people know just where to go for a beautiful sight, and probably a lovely weekend!
