A couple of weeks ago, I promised some pictures of some of our travels this summer. Without further fanfare, here is one of the places.
When you get to the entrance of the Castle in the Clouds, you pay to get in and are told to follow the road until you get to the Pebble (you can't miss it) then park just beyond it. Here is the Pebble:
We certainly couldn't miss that! So we parked in the small parking area, to a short hike, and found the falls:
After viewing the falls, we walked back to the vehicles and proceeded to the Castle. Everything was so awesome that I took few pictures because pics really wouldn't capture everything. However, they did have a pretty nifty view from the back of the place:
Lake Winnipesaukee is the largest lake in New Hampshire. This picture only show a small portion of the lake, and the view.
The other thing that was just cool as all get out was the planters all along the perimeter of the viewing ledge:
I asked WS if he would build me some of these, and after all the laughter died down, he declined. Ah well, can't blame a girl for asking.
Those just give you a small taste of our time at the Castle in the Clouds.
True to its namesake, New England is given to understatement. Pebble, indeed! As to your request of WS: Is it the waterfall, the lake, or the planters that he was to have built? It's easy to see that you enjoyed yourselves. Great!

That would be the planter.

I'll have to ask Dear Husband how they manage to get the squared off sides when they work with stone in a "crazy-quilt" kind of pattern. There must be a lot of stone cutting involved.
I know the pictures don't do the scenery justice, so you must have had a heavenly view! Thanks for sharing it.
