After a week full of staining and polyurathaning (no painting though), the stereo cabinet is about done. I have put 4 coats of polyurathane on the outside and 3 coats on the doors and shelves. Today I am putting a couple of coats on the bottom and finishing the doors up. Over the weekend we should be able to switch everything over (assuming that Jim is ready for the old entertainment center - otherwise we have to wait until we can get that out of here).
Tonight we are going to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra at the Verizon Wireless Arena. We have no idea if they are any good, or even quite what to expect, but the DJ's to the local rock station just rave about them (and they don't rave about just any band either). Additionally, the original 8 PM show (the one we are attending), sold out so fast that they added a matinee show at 3.
Should be a good ending to the week anyway.
TSO is awesome. I haven't had the chance to see them live, but I've heard a lot of their music (a friend is a HUGE fan and has everything they ever put out). Much like Mannheim Steamroller, they combine orchestra and electric together. It should be a great time if you are into that kind of mix.
Next time tehy are in town, I plan on catching them.
Enjoy.

I'll be interested to see what you think of them. I'd never heard of them until that dude with the computerized Christmas light display done to music. He used Wizards In Winter, and it was so catchy.
I assumed they were some orchestra from Russia that used electronics and was starting to make a slash in the US. Now seeing the web site, they were simply formed to do rock opera "right." And ended up focusing mainly on Christmas music so far.

The name of the band is kind of misleading isn't it? Although, the keyboardist is from Korea.
