I am sooooo looking forward to filling the oil tank for the start of the heating season! I want to know what kind of home uses 275 gallons of fuel in 10 days though. Either he is living in a mansion, or he is living in a rough-hewn shack - either way I'm glad we're not in his shoes!

I get to pick up my new wedding ring today. That was quicker than they had told me - they said around 4 weeks and it has only been 2 weeks. Can't complain about Kay's service at all!

I've been busy with pet-sitting the last couple of weeks, and it will continue until October (I only have 1 day between now and 10/1 that I don't have any pets to sit). One of my stops in the last 10 dyas has been to take care of Moka and her sheep (and the 1 chicken that is left). The house sits on a ridge, with the trees below the house cleared our. I get there just before sunrise, when there is a tiny strip of pink or purple outlining the mountains on the horizon - beautiful!

We had to replace the mailbox last weekend because the door hinges had rusted offf. This is the 4th (or 5th, I'm not keeping an official count) mailbox we have had in the 17 years we have been here. All of our mailboxes have been of the "Rural" type - wider, taller and deeper than the average sit-on-the-post mailbox. That way the mail lady can drop off boxes of books and other packages without any trouble so we don't have to go to the post office to pick the packages up.
I bought a "Rural" mailbox on Saturday to find out that they are now shorter and skinnier than they used to be. Oh sure, they are just as long, but length isn't everything!

And that is the (short) news from Bogieland. Tune in this weekend for more thrilling posts!
It's hard to imagine how that one, poor chicken escaped the killer critter. The view sounds terrific. We'll bring you our "cat house" next time we come. Of course, you'll need to plug the holes (both the bullet holes and the ones that I drilled for additional ventilation); but, I don't think that the hinges are rusting. Oh, well.
Have a great weekend!

The chicken now resides in the barn with the sheep. She roosts on the gate to the big stall and is happy to go wander amongst the sheep legs/feet looking for goodies.
Wouldn't the cats be a little upset with me if you gave me their house? Hey, doesn't that have a piece of carpet on the bottom? Just what I need, delux digs for the mail - LOL.

I forgot to say that, I'll bet that your finger feels a lot more comfortable, now.

Yep - my finger felt naked before. Funny how we get used to things like that!
