And Happy New Year to you and WS!
WD and I stayed at home (as we always do), had one drink, a nice steak dinner and hit the hay around midnight. At least this year we actually got to ring in the new year!
CK went out to a wedding rehearsal and then ensconced herself (with a number of friends) at a girlfriend's house for the night. She rarely drinks when out with friends, but WD and I practically ranted and raved when she was growing up about the tremendous responsibilities a driver has when driving on the road. The one question she says she always remembers to ask herself, "Do I want to go tell my friend's parents that I killed their child because I was too stupid to call a cab, my parents, or just stay put until the next day?" I just hope she always remembers the question.
Sorry for the editorial-after working in the liquor industry for over 20 years, I get a little sensitive on the subject of drinking and driving!
Hope you and WS have a wonderful, healthy, and safe 2005!

We didn't even ring in the New Year. We went to some friends' bonfire, but were home and in bed by 11. I had pet-sitting this morning and figured the new year would still be here when we woke up!
Good for CK - you taught her well! I'm always the designated driver when WS and I go out, which I don't mind since I'm not a real drinker anyway (I just fake it and nurse 1-2 Smirnoff Ices for 3 or 4 hours and rarely finish either of them).
