The Weekend Pundit posted a Brendan Smith column (<i>The Flatlander News</i>) on duck duct tape.
I have to agree that duct tape is one of the most versatile tools - when I had a motorcycle, it passed inspection with the rings duct taped together to keep the headlight from falling out. I think the turn signals were duct taped in place too. When I went to the Blessing of the Bikes, it went with duct tape. The engine was in great shape and it never failed to start or run good. The only thing I did was put on a new shifter (it was bent from being laid down hard - from a previous owner) and a battery.
And in case anyone cares, after my wrist injury, I sold the bike to someone looking for a parts bike (it was an '81 Virago - not in that good of shape though!). The engine, brakes and frame were in such a condition he decided to make his original bike the parts bike.
We still see it on the road during the summers (sans duct tape).
It's hard to believe that your bike will run without duct tape. Amazing!

That was one symbiotic relationship that I thought would never be broken!
