The Christmas cards are going to hit the mailbox Wednesday morning, so they should be to their destinations before Dec. 25 - unless you're close family, of course, then they will probably be late. That would be because I don't have the cards that family members are getting yet.
I had all good intentions to get the cards, I even tried to get cards appropriate for family. But the forces of evil have gathered and conspired against me! I stopped at Walmart Tuesday morning, after work, to select cards (and buy boxed cards for friends). The boxed card selection was crappy, but I finally came up with two different styles. Then, I went to the individual card section.
Ooh, that sucked! Most of the cards there were "For Anyone" cards - which I am not sending to my family. The rest of the cards were either inappropriate (No, we don't see each other every week, but I especially think of you during the holidays - the second part yes, but the first part no), or they were just tacky. And, naturally, there are no card stores open at 6:30 AM (descrimination I tell ya) - ergo, no cards.
I'll either have to cut sleep short on Friday or wait until the weekend to get to the big city to get cards for family members. So, it is unlikely that they will get to where they need to be in time (that's okay, I probably won't get around to shipping any packages until next week, so those will be late too).
I, at least, am one ahead of WS. He hasn't even looked for cards yet, so I can pretend I'm morally superior anyway!
We read you all the time, so if the card is a little late, big deal. We'll be happy whenever it gets here.

No wonder your confused, lots of people play cards instead of buying them (it's kind of like playing the ponies, only different - I think):)

I bought a box of those $5.99 assorted blank Christmas cards with the really shitty artwork on the front, wrote my own message, and mailed them out to all of my friends and family. All the cards at Wal-Mart are overpriced and corny. It's the thought that counts anyway, right?
