Yesteday we did a lot of running around, thus got nothing done on the yard. We did our normal Saturday stuff; the dump run, bank deposit (I wish he could get direct deposite), Dunkin Donuts for coffee (for me - I only have coffee on the weekends), and Agway for dog food. Then the Wonderful Spouse decided that we needed to stop at Caron's diner for breakfast. We came home and there was a message from Eddie about the Wonderful Spouse's bike being done.
I was supposed to go to Heather's house and dig up some ground cover (periwinkle) to help with erosion control in the area of the railroad ties that we had to build up several feet. Since WS needed a driver to pick up the bike, he offered to go with me so that the digging would go faster. I accepted and an hour job turned into about 30 minutes.
I then took the Wonderful Spouse up to Bow to pick up his bike - boy is he are we psyched! It's running well, although there may be a few minor bugs to work out. When we got home, I was going to start planting, but Jim came over on his bike and wanted to go for a ride. Of course we decided a short ride would be just the ticket to cool off, so off we went. When we got home, Harry and Heather came riding up, and after yakking for a while, we decided to go for another putt.
It was so relaxing just to forget about the yard for a day, and have fun with good friends. We sure needed that!
Today we will try to concentrate some on the yard, but Jim threatened to come by today and wisk us off on another ride. Not that I'm complaining mind you . . .
