The Wonderful Spouse went out with some of his buddies last night to the Rynborn Blues Club over in Antrim. Vykki Vox was playing, which always means great music (we've seen her a couple times before)! She is a tiny littlle thing; about 5'1" and maybe 90 lbs., but has a big voice! If you're a blues fan, try out one of her CD's, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
A couple of months ago (ok, probably more like 7-8 months), I was excited to find a website where I could get some J.D. Blackfoot music. I had been looking for a used LP (remember those?) so I could get The Song of Crazy Horse, which a friend had turned me onto back in 1981. He had been in the service, posted in Germany, and gotten into Blackfoot's music. Of course, his music was pretty much available only in Europe and my friend played hell finding a used copy in the U.S. On a lark one day, I Googled J.D.'s name, and voila, I found his website! I ended up ordering a couple of CD's through the mail (which is the only way orders can be made) and got the music within 5 days. The Song of Crazy Horse is a haunting yet powerful song that is about 20 minutes long. Check out the lyrics here (you will have to scroll down to the last song). Another favorite song from this CD is I've Flushed You From the Toilet of My Heart, which is very funny (as the name implies) and completely different from the rest of the songs.
