We did our good deed Sunday as we helped a friend out. Carol is 50, works two jobs to support herself, and until recently one of her sons was staying with her. His household job consisted of shoveling a path out to the wood pile. Well, he never got around to that (starting from the big storm on Christmas). They had words last week and he moved out - and decided to make some sort of "statement" by removing all the wiring for Carol's stereo, surround sound and DVD player.
We found out about this on Saturday night while we were all having dinner at another friend's house (Harry is an great cook!). The Wonderfull Spouse and I loaded up on Sunday and went to Carol's house to help her out. The Wonderfull Spouse got all her electronics hooked back up while I did the manual labor of hacking through the 3 feet of accumulated snow and ice so she can get to her wood pile. We got her all set up and she just couldn't believe that we came down to help her out. Hey, that what friend are for - right? You have a problem, I'll help you out, and if the opportunity arises, you do the same for me (and if the opportunity doesn't arise, who cares, we're not keeping score!).
