3 more days of this person and her non-stop talking. the 8 hour drive out here was bad enough, but we also share a hotel room. The 8 hour drive will be a contest of my willing myself not to strangle her.
It will be a miracle if I'm still sane after this.
Earplugs are wonderful! Surprisingly, the person they block out can be offended by them.

Yeah, since she was my ride to/from, and room mate at the hotel, didn't want to give offense. She's really a nice person and I can just tag along as she talks to people and not be expected to join the conversation, but being with her alone was very trying for me. It's over and I'm happy to say that all survived :)

I haven't had a female roommate (that excludes your Dad!) since 1982 at Naval Air Station Pensacola FL. She was a complete stranger who had just come in on a ship and stayed but one night. I had two roommies at Naval Air Station New Orleans LA in 1981 - for two weeks. The highlight was one day when I returned from classes to find they had a guy in our room. Fortunately, I outranked 'em all and no one gave me any quarrel when I threw him out. Not only were other-gender people not allowed in our rooms but both of the gals were married and they were drinking with him (they kept cognac in their cupboards). Quite an experience.

I haven't slept with anyone in the same building since summer of 2014, so it was a bit of a challenge for me (napping while you and Dad were here doesn't count).
