What a Pair
WS got up a bit ago, went upstairs, and yelled for me to get my but up there. He had spotted something that we have never had - a pair of pileated woddpeckers in our back yard. Oh, wow! Color me envious. Sightings of pileated woodpeckers are reported around here. In fact, I saw one fly over a couple of years ago; but, I'd like to see them stationary. It's been several years since I've even seen a yellow-bellied sapsucker...or heard it's distinctive, syncopated pecking.
