Working Women Blues?

I called my boss this afternoon to discuss the trials and tribulations from last night (or early this morning - whichever way you want to think about it. he was so happy with what happened last night that he told me to stay home for a couple of days He told me that if there wasn't much for me to do, I could take a long weekend (using a couple of vacation days) if I wanted. I jumped at the chance to take some time off as I still have a bunch of stuff to do before the really cold weather hits.

And no, my boss wasn't mad although he suspects I had a party at work and we snorted all the argon - LOL. Actually, I had figured out that due to the nature of the experiment we were running, we used about a weeks worth of argon (about what we had left at the beginning of the week) in just 27 hours. He said that he had sent the plate out, along with a couple of others that had digs in them, to be resurfaced. Fortunately, resurfacing the plates is much cheaper than buying them!

Tuesday morning, as well as this morning, I came home and put additional coats of polyurathane on the new slider. The only parts I couldn't do were the interior parts of the door frame where the door is. The weather is supposed to be warmer this weekend so we can remove the door and I can slap another coat of varnish in there and it will be done.

I have been charged with staining and polyurathaning the trim pieces that will go around the door frame. So I will do that Thursday and Friday. Hopefully that means that Harry can come over this weekend and the finish the project!

I have gotten one batch of leeks dehydrated and have another batch of leeks and onions to finish up on my days off. I also still need to get the Morning Glories cleaned up. I know I thought I would do that Tuesday, but I was overly optomistic on how much time I would have - not normally a problem; being overly optomistic.

On a whole different note, Buffy has described some of her favorite bloggers' writing styles. I think she described mine very well (and I am certainly flattered that I am one of her favorite bloggers!). I was distressed to find that the first comment that I left at her post was misunderstood and want to make up for it by sending some traffic her way. So, go read!
