Aggrevations
When I got home yesterday afternoon, I had a message on the answering machine. David, a property evaluator, had called and he would be in our area this coming Monday. Would it be OK if he stopped in to evaluate the house for the refinancing? Somebody would have to be here of course, to let him in. If that could not be arranged, then it would be another 3-4 weeks before he was in the area again.
I had to call work and see if I could take off that day, even though I was supposed to start a run on Monday. Fortunately, my boss said it would be okay to start the run on Tuesday instead. So I called David back and told him that Monday at 10 AM would be fine.
Somehow I find it hard to believe that he didn't know he would be in the area that day, and call before this. Yes, he could have had a cancellation, but I had the choice between his showing up at 9 or 10. Somehow I find it hard to believe he had 2 cancelations in consecutive hours.
So here I am trying to get the house cleaned up and spiffy. I know that how clean the house is shouldn't influence the appraisal, but I figure if we are on the cusp of what it needs to appraise at, he will give us the benefit of the doubt.
I definitely need to steam clean the carpet downstairs, but am not sure how to get it dry (as I am typing this, I am waiting for the tile, which I mopped 1/2 an hour ago, to dry). It has been so humid for the last 8-9 days that laundry has been taking 3 days to dry when hung on the racks (dry, is used loosely in this context). I replaced the sponge I use for washing dishes a week ago Friday, and by Monday it had started to stink because it never dries out. So now I stick it in the microwave for 1 minute, once a day to help kill bacteria (by the way, did you know that's a great way to loosen baked on stuff when you want to clean the inside of the microwave?). The dish drainer is growing mold (I clean that every 2 weeks), even though I hardly do any dishes since WS is gone.
I am sweating my ass off just sitting here, even though according to the Weather Channel it is "cold" here in the Northeast. 73 degrees is not cold, or even cool, when the humidity is 100 percent! I did stretch the truth there, the humidity has gone down to 96 percent since 2 hours ago. The only positive I can get out of the weather we have had since July is that at least the top temp has only been about 85, and is usually cooler. If it was in the 90's and that humid, I can only guess (and you probably don't want to know) how much I would be ranting right now!
It's back to work for me, please go back to your daily lives as usual.

Yes'm! I want to thank you for keeping all that crappy weather. Normally it's humid and buggy here, and this year it seems to be just buggy.
