How awsome, I got

How awsome, I got out at noon today (only 7 hours of work vs. the 10+ normally worked). I thought I would enjoy the nice sunny/warm day before the storm moves in. But once I got home, I was so tired that I took a nap, which happened to last several hours (Iwoke up just before dark). Well, since I probably missed the last nice day until April, I have to punish myself some how. I know just the thing: Ben and Jerry's Coffee Heathbar Crunch ice cream! This is a hard flavor to find out in the boonies, so I stock up whenever I find it. The Ben and Jerry's flavor locator is great - I didn't even know that Rite Aid carried ice cream!

It is supposed to start

It is supposed to start snowing (or sleeting or raining, depending upon which station you tend to believe). Then more snow tomorrow - changing to sleet and rain in the evening. I suppose that means we'll get another 8" or so of snow. At this rate the leaves will never get raked! Well, the wood rack is full (should last a week or so) so we're all set on that front.

Today was better, I didn't

Today was better, I didn't wake up until 2:45 (never mind that I don't need to get up until 3:45 or 4:00). Even after being up for several hours, I wasn't totally awake until I saw the photo of Micheal Jackson on Davezilla's blog today. What a rude awakening!

I'm not sure what to think of the passage of the Homeland Security bill (by the House). It seems to have some stuff that is less than kosher in it (no I am not talking about the unionization thing). I must admit that I haven't done much research on it, but it seems to me that vague wording (not to mention allowing searches, wiretaps etc. to be conducted without warrants) can mean a whole passel of trouble for the average Joe - not just to terrorists. Life sentences for hackers, seems a little harsh because if people are killed, injured of endangered, there are other laws on the books to cover the crime. No I am not sympathetic to hackers - I really dislike people that spend all that talent and energy to get their kicks by using disruptive behavior.

Maybe I should just switch

Maybe I should just switch to a 3rd shift job - I was awake at 1AM again . Not sure what the deal was, but I'm not really happy with the way this has been going lately. I have plenty of time to work out anyway - I just have to be carefull not to wake up the spouse.

We had visitors at work yesterday. They were people that are threatening to put in a rather large order (up to $1 million a year - a rather large chunk for a 7 person operation). They want us to exclusively supply them with one of our products - not legal unless other things happen like: they buy out our company or put in a large amount of dough for developing a specific product for them. Any one of these things would be good for this struggling little operation.

I will be taking care of a customer's horses and cats starting this Saturday and continuing through next Thursday. I really like this customer because he is very concerned over the well-being and welfare of his charges. He really worries about them to the point that I have to leave messages on his answering machine each night so he knows that his "kids" are OK. If I ever get distracted and don't get the call in by 7PM, he calls me - even if he isn't in the country and has to pay horrendous long distance charges. Now that is real concern for his pets!

Wow, what a busy day

Wow, what a busy day yesterday. First I woke up at 1 AM because my loving spouse was trying to push me out of bed. When I woke up, my left leg and arm were hanging off the bed (Mischief loved it, she probably thought I was petting her), and the loving spouse was still pushing for more room. Now usually a queen-sized bed is big enough - but not this time. I finally used enough elbows to get the spouse to give me some breathing room - then the snoring began . . . .

I had to get up at 3:30 and I got to work at 5:15 (no animals to take care of - besides my own). I didn't get out of work until about 4:30, stopped to get fuel for the vehicle, checked to make sure a client had gotten home as he was supposed to (otherwise I would have had a cat to take care of). Finally, I got home and my spouse informed me that we had to drop off the car (our 3rd vehicle) for a friend to use while his truck was being worked on. I fed the dogs real quick, and then we left on our mission of mercy. We dropped off the car (talked to Jim some) and ordered a pizza, which we picked up on our way home. Finally home at 7:45.

By 8:30 I was almost asleep on the couch, so I took myself to bed and got waken up about 2ish when the water softner started to do it's thing. I can tell that I am not destined to get much sleep this week!

Yesterday we had a record-breaking

Yesterday we had a record-breaking high temp at 70 degrees (yes the 8" of snow finally melted). It rained on and off during the day, but it was still a nice day.

There was absolutely nothing on TV last night (prior to football) so we dug out a "Babylon 5" tape and watched that instead. We both love Bab5 and wish it was still running. We like it so much I ordered the whole series on tape (as far as I know it's not on DVD yet). We had been taping it, but missed a lot of shows because hockey games would preempt it. Besides, with the series on tape, there are no commercials and it is encoded for using surround sound (which we couldn't get off the network).

We watched Monsters, Inc. the other night. Neither of us had seen it before and it was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. We also watched Balto - another good movie. Isn't it strange how a childless couple like us love a lot of the movies made for kids? Maybe that means we really do have two kids - us!

All right, I got the

All right, I got the 3 rows to show, but what is up with the different colors of the links on the right? Ahrg!

There will be more links in the future, and it will be an ecclectic collection. But for now that is all the time I have. I will be back soon though.

I'm not sure why

I'm not sure why I am having such problems getting posts to stay there (or indeed even getting to the site at times). It's really beginning to tweak me! Another thing that bugs me is that I have a table with 3 columns not 2 - but do they all show - noooooo.

I don't know why

I don't know why the link on my last post is back to green (instead of blue). I didn't change anything between my last post yesterday and today's post. Well I don't have time to worry about it know.

I want to congratulate

I want to congratulate New Hampshire for having such a high voter turn out. 65% of elligible voters took their duties seriously. I heard somewhere that we were 9th in the nation for voter turn out - we should be proud of ourselves.

In another vein, who were the idiots in district 28 that voted a dead guy into office? Of course on re-reading the 4th paragraph (and seeing that all the winners were Republican), maybe all the votes came from those voting a straight ticket (I'm not sure if that's possible when chosing up to 4 representatives).
